Description: ALPHA is a ten week, inter-denominational, practical introduction to the Christian Faith.  Each ALPHA session at FUMC begins with a time to visit and share a light dinner followed by an interesting, thought provoking video, and small group discussion.  ALPHA is for everyone.






Group Name:  Disciple Bible Study

Coordinator:

Description:   Groups made up of adults or youth that meet for long-term study.  Disciple I is a 34-week course that gives students an overview of the entire Bible.  After a student has  completeded Disciple I, he/she may go onto Disciple II (32 weeks on Genesis, Exodus, Luke and Acts), Disciple III (32 weeks on the Prophets and the letters of Pual) or Disciple IV (32 weeks on the Wisdom Literature, the Gospel of John and Revelation).  Classes typically form in the fall and continue for the school year.

Group Name: Jesus in the Gospels

Description: A 30-week class which explores how Jesus is presented in each of the Gospels.  This course also follows a Disciple format with daily readings, group story and a video presentation each week.  Disciple I is a prerequisite.

Group Name: Christian Believer

Coordinator:

Description: A class that spends 30 weeks on the classical doctrines of the Christian faith.  Topics include sacraments, grace, and the Holy Spirit.  These groups also form in the fall.

Group Name: Lectionary Bible Study

Description: A group that meets every Thursday at noon in the Parlor for Lunch and a short study of the Lectionary Bible readings for each week.  Please bring your Bible and Lunch.

Group Name: United Methodist Belief Classes

Coordinator:

Description: Short term classes on various aspects of United Mehtodist doctrine, history and structure are offered periodically through the year.  Classes are open to any adult who would like to learn more about the UM church.  New members receive special invitations to attend.

Group Name: Adult Sunday School Options

Coordinator: Various

Description: Short-term classes on a variety of topics are offered throughout the year.  Some classes are seasonal, such as Advent or Lenten studies, other are topical.  See the newsletter or bulletin inserts or call the church office for more information.

Group Name: UMW (United Methodist Women)

Description:  With the purpose of knowing God, developing supportive fellowship and participating in the mission of the church, the UMW welcomes all women.  The schedule includes:

Circle Meetings -

          *Monday Evening Circle meets 1st Monday of the month     at 7:00 p.m. in the church parlor.

          *Wednesday Morning Circle meets 1st Wednesday of the     month at 9:30 a.m. in the church parlor.

          *Thursday Morning Circle meets the 1st Thursday of the       month at 9:30 a.m. in the church parlor.

          *Lunch Bunch Circle meets the 1 Thursday of the month at       12:00 p.m. in the church parlor.

          *Manor Circle meets the 4th Wednesday of the month at     10:00 a.m. at Presby Manor.
